Earlier, the test was scheduled to start from last Tuesday, but due to an increase in cases of coronary heart disease in Gujarat, hospitals were overcrowded and the test was not conducted, state government sources said.

According to sources, the corona vaccine will reach Gujarat by Wednesday or Thursday and will be stored at Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. Thereafter, the vaccine will be tested on a total of 1,000 people in five hospitals approved by the Gujarat government. Due to the increase in cases, the number of beds in the hospitals was declining and the decision was taken to postpone the test as the volunteers preparing for the test would also be kept in isolation at Kovid Hospital.
