The election result process in India follows a well-established procedure governed by the Election Commission of India

The election result process in India follows a well-established procedure governed by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Here's an overview of the process:

1. **Voting**: Elections in India are typically conducted in multiple phases due to the vast size of the country and its population. Registered voters cast their votes at designated polling stations during the scheduled election days. The voting process is conducted using electronic voting machines (EVMs) in most constituencies.

2. Vote Counting:

After the polling ends, the EVMs are sealed and transported to counting centers under tight security. On the designated counting day, the EVMs are opened, and the votes are counted.

3. **Declaration of Results**: The counting process continues until all votes are tallied. Once the counting is complete, the Election Commission announces the results for each constituency. The candidate with the highest number of votes in a constituency is declared the winner.

4. **Verification and Certification**:

The Election Commission verifies the results and ensures their accuracy before officially certifying them. Any discrepancies or challenges to the results may be addressed through legal channels.

5. **Formation of Government

In the case of parliamentary elections, the party or coalition with a majority of seats in the Lok Sabha (House of the People) forms the government. The leader of the majority party or coalition is typically invited to become the Prime Minister.

6. **Post-Election Analysis**: Following the election, various political parties, analysts, and experts analyze the results to understand voter trends, preferences, and the overall political landscape.

The entire process is conducted transparently and is closely monitored to ensure fairness and integrity in the electoral process. The Election Commission plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of the elections, from voter registration to result declaration.

Taking forward its continuous efforts of building an active democratic citizenry in the country, Election Commission of India has undertaken a new initiative by designing a Mobile Application to show information published by candidates during nomination regarding their criminal antecedents, so that at one stroke, each voter gets such information on his/her mobile phone.
The app provides following facilities to Indian voters:
(1) View all candidates who filled nomination
(2) View candidate’s details
(3) View candidate’s affidavit including criminal antecedents
(4) Search Candidate by Name
(5) Know Your Candidate

The date of the local body elections is likely to be announced today. The elections could be held in two phases

The date for the local body elections is likely to be announced today.  The State Election Commission may announce the dates at a press conference today.  It is also likely that the local body elections will be held in two phases.

Municipal and municipal elections will be held in the first phase and district and taluka panchayat elections will be held in the second phase.  The counting of votes will be done simultaneously in this election which will be held in two phases.  Political parties are also busy formulating strategies for local body elections.  Earlier, a non-disclosure petition was filed in the Gujarat High Court seeking that the Election Commission announce the issue of holding local body elections on ballot paper.  Petitioner Imtiaz Khan Pathan, his advocate K.  R.  The petition was filed in the Gujarat High Court through Koshti.  The non-disclosure petition alleges that in response to the RTI filed by the petitioner, the state Election Commission stated that it did not have a VVPAT machine.  In the absence of a VVPAT machine, the State Election Commission announces the issue of holding local body elections on ballot paper.

The petitioner also made a written representation to the State Election Commission on 1 January 2021 on the issue.  To date, however, no response has been claimed.  The petitioner has sought directions from the State Election Commission to submit a status report before the Gujarat High Court on the issue.  The petitioner has also cited the judgment of the Central Election Commission in the PIL case against Subramaniam Swamy.

The counting of votes is likely to be done together
The crucial local body elections ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections could be held in February or March next year. According to official sources, the local body elections will be held in two phases and counting of votes is likely to be done simultaneously. Municipal and municipal elections will be held in the first phase, while panchayat elections will be held in the second phase, in which preparations to be made keeping in view the situation of Kovid, police staff, polling stations, election staff etc. were discussed.

Local body elections are coming up in Gujarat after the by-elections of 8 assembly seats. While preparations have been started by the political parties, the review has also been completed by the State Election Commission.

On 19th September 2017, the Central Election Commission issued a directive to use VVPAT machine along with EVM at all polling booths in future Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the country.  The petitioner further said that the Central Election Commission and the State Election Commission have been constituted under the Constitution.

Considering the situation of Corona in Gujarat, the state's local body elections are likely to be held in two phases. Will be held. This election will be formally announced. The counting of votes in this election, which will be held in two phases, will be done together.

Preparations are currently underway by political parties for the local body elections. In particular, the BJP has been taking a number of programs, inaugurations and policy decisions for the last ten days, along with the BJP and the Congress.

Faceshields, masks and sanitizers will be arranged
The State Election Commission (SEC) held video-conference review meetings with all district collectors on local body elections, as well as meetings with different departments of the government. Will be given. Sanitizers will be provided to voters at polling stations, with an emphasis on the need for sanitizers and masks.
