The government has told schools that parents will be able to pay fees at their convenience. It will not be able to take penalty if it is delayed.

Earlier, the deadline for payment of fees was October 31

Earlier, the education minister had said that schools would not be able to charge fees for transport, library, computer and sports activities. The education minister said private schools would not be able to take a decision not to pay teachers against fee relief. In addition, teachers will not be able to adopt the method of non-payment of salaries.

Fees may increase next year

Manan Choksi, president of the Association of Progressive Schools, said that while schools have lost 5% of the annual increment, there is now a 25% fee waiver. This will result in 30% loss to schools. In addition, a 5% increase in fees for the year 2020-21 will be as per the government rule. Fees could rise by 35% next year.
