The Somnath Trust has been working to promote tourism in the Somnath pilgrimage site of Gir Somnath and is going to prepare projects that will attract tourists. The most attractive in this project is the glass tunnel under the sea of Somnath which will become a very attraction for tourists...
Ever since our Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the chairman of the Somnath Trust, we have allocated Rs 500 crore to expand Somnath. Many projects have been undertaken to boost tourism at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Facilities including cable bridge, water sports and restaurant will also be made available from Triveni Devotsarg.
It will also set up a state-of-the-art bus stand at Somnath.
The most ambitious project designed to promote the Somnath pilgrimage is the glass tunnel in the sea. Tourists will be able to see the marine life by going through this glass tunnel. In the second phase, a themed museum will be set up between the parking dormitories in which the project of audio visual of animals, birds, various denominations and 12 Jyotirlingas will be carried out.
