Fact check:;; No proposal to cut salaries of central govt employees, clarifies Finance Ministry

Fact check:;; No proposal to cut salaries of central govt employees, clarifies Finance Ministry

This clarification came after a claim was made by a news channel that the government was planning to cut salaries of central government employees by 30 percent.
"The reports in some section of media are false and have no basis whatsoever," Ministry of Finance said on its Twitter handle.
PIB Fact Check also took to its Twitter handle and said that central government is not considering any such proposal

The Ministry of Finance and Press Information of Bureau (PIB) on Monday denied reports that claimed salary cut of central government employees amid coronavirus pandemic. "The reports in some section of media are false and have no basis whatsoever," Ministry of Finance said on its Twitter handle.

This clarification came after a news channel reported that the government was planning to cut salaries of central government employees by 30 percent.

On this, the Ministry said that there was no proposal under consideration of government for any cut in the salary of central government employees.

The PIB fact check has dismissed reports that the pay hike of central employees has been suspended for a year. Many media houses on June 15 reported that the salaries of central employees would not be increased this year amid a lockdown due to the Corona virus. On Tuesday, PIBI denied the report, saying it was false.

PIB Fact Check tweeted: "Claim: Media report citing Department of Personal Training (DoPT) claims that Central Government has stopped pay hike till next year." Completion of Performance Assessment Report (APR) and extension of time is related, not salary increase. The report has misinterpreted the facts.

Let me tell you that a news item was published on various news portals on Monday stating that the Department of Personal Training (DoPT) has issued an order. According to the order, the time limit for completion of Annual Performance Assessment Report (APAR) of Central Employees has been extended. It has been extended to March 2021. That means employees will not get increments in 2020.

PIB Fact Check also took to its Twitter handle and said that central government is not considering any such proposal.

"Please beware of fake news," it added.

Finance Ministry has earlier also come out with a clarification in April over reported claim of salary cut.

On the right side of the website it is clearly written that it is not an official website. That in itself is a hoax. First it was said, apply online by clicking on the link, then it is written inside, it is not a government website.

Several claims related to PM Dhan Lakshmi Yojana have been made on the website. In addition, it says, you have to go to the nearest district level community center to apply. This is another fraud. As it was written in the viral message that online application can be done from the link.
It has become clear that the URL that is going viral is neither a government website nor an online application for a scheme. Now we started the investigation to find out the fact of the scheme of this name.
However, the claim is being made about schemes involving women and also includes the term PM. That's why we started exploring information related to the central government's schemes for women. The website of the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has three lists of schemes of the Central Government relating to women. We are not aware of any scheme here called PM Dhan Lakshmi.
