Learning through online education October unit Test preparation

Learning through online education October unit Test preparation  std 3 Environment

Taking a web learning program, you will be an officially registered student at your institution and have access to an equivalent resources as an on-campus student, like your institution's digital library, learning management system (like Blackboard), building membership and more! a web degree is analogous to taking a course of study on campus, but you've got the liberty to direct your own study schedule.

Resources for Online Learning

In general, when taking a web course of study you would possibly encounter resources like:

  • EBooks;
  • Journals;
  • Videos;
  • Recorded lectures;
  • Quizzes;
  • Discussion forums
  • Live Q&A sessions; and
  • Interviews.

The resources offered to you for learning online will depend upon the institution where you're taking your online program. Some online learning programs may require you to order physical textbooks beforehand by within the mail, but these are generally being phased call at favor of eBooks and online-only methods of delivery.

For those institutions that have made the transition to using 100% online resources, students can expect to review employing a combination of cutting-edge technological resources with no got to visit attend lectures, exams or in-person discussion sessions!

Your school and your course instructor will determine the format for every individual course and can select delivery methods that are best suited to your course or program. What a Biology major must learn successfully online will differ from what an humanistic discipline major needs!

Online learning could also be a totally new experience for you. If you're coming from a more traditional learning background, read on to get the way to make

Our education structure is different and only limited people have access to digital media. we will enter into this model of education if all the scholars have access to internet and computers. But that's not the case.

With a view to understanding the tutorial problems under lockdown, i might wish to present my viewpoints within the wake of consultations with variety of individuals from academia into four parts:

Status of conventional education.

Universities, colleges and schools across the country are closed since March 16, 2020 when the Union Government announced a state classroom shutdown together of the main measures to contain the outbreak. Later, a nationwide lockdown was announced wef. March 24, 2020 which has now been extended till May 3, 2020.

According to UNESCO, as of Pan American Day , 188 countries round the world have closed schools nationwide, affecting over 1.5 billion learners and representing quite 91 per cent of total enrolled learners. the planet has never experienced such a dramatic impact on human capital investment and therefore the consequences of COVID-19 on economic, social and political indicators.

Status of online education under lockdown.

Although majority of the governments are making substantial efforts to make sure online educational opportunities, their capacity for the foremost disadvantaged populations varies enormously. The responses vary widely by level of income: but 25 per cent of low-income countries currently provide any sort of remote learning, and of those , the bulk are using TV and radio.

In contrast, on the brink of 90 per cent of high income countries are providing remote learning opportunities, nearly all of which are provided online. A lower share of lower-middle income countries – 66 per cent – offers online or broadcast remote learning opportunities to their students. But even when governments of low and middle-income countries attempt to offer online education, they're going to not be ready to reach most students: Only 36 per cent of the residents of lower-middle income countries have access to the web .

The learning gap between rich and poor will likely grow during the pandemic, not just between high and low-income countries, but also between high and low-income regions and communities within countries.

There are some predictable risks. One very real risk is exacerbating existing inequities. Today for college kids who don't have access to technology, books, food or literate adults reception , remote learning runs the danger of drastically widening the gap between haves and have-nots of these resources.

A panel appointed by the UGC has recommended that the tutorial session in universities and better educational institutions are often started from September, 2020 rather than July. 2020 in sight of the COVID-19 situation within the country.

A survey conducted by the University of Hyderabad (UoH) shows that the bulk of scholars don’t have proper access to the internet;

the university has decided to not impose online classes on their students and school at this juncture. It should be noted that UoH may be a top-ranking university in India. many universities across India are nowhere in comparison thereupon .

Never before in history had a whole generation of youngsters across the planet witnessed an identical disruption in education. As India witnessed the world’s most aggressive and largest lockdown as a precautions for Covid-19, academic institutions initiated online classes to cope up with the new normal. Corona pandemic has pushed the planet into an unprecedented education emergency

this abrupt switch to online schooling has been frustrating for all stakeholders, right from school managements to teachers to student and fogeys . A majority of teachers were ill-prepared to modify to online classes as they lacked the technological expertise or resources, some even had an apathy towards online teaching initially.

Not only that this it had been nightmarish for a few who faced unwanted intrusion by the peeping or argumentative parents, inappropriate remarks by students during classes and pranks played by students who would make false ID and enter the category as parent or relative made it difficult all the more.

Teachers, whether in government or private setups, had their own set of challenges. school teachers were more perturbed by online bullying by students and intrusion by parent or relatives whereas government school teachers had a greater challenge of imparting classes to students belong to economically weaker sections who didn't own a sensible phone or a basic mobile. The report “Save Our Education” citing data by UNESCO claimed that a whopping 9.7 million children will drop out of faculty permanently with no access to online education. It’s the poorest and most marginalised children who would suffer the best loss.

Researches also suggest that online education (Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs) has not lived up to expectations. this is often not surprising as earlier attempts like education by radio and tv couldn't meet the expectations. this point definitely has been nightmarish for educators because the online classes are here to remain and that they need to best ignore the misconduct of scholars during classes.

Online bullying by teenagers is extremely common, say teachers. Students create fake IDs and enter the classroom as a parent to confuse teachers and make a ruckus. Often privacy norms aren't followed and fogeys are seen roaming around in their night dresses during classes. Sudden guest appearance of mothers or domestic helps leaves the category in splits and disrupts the flow of the classroom. Trolling teachers by sending memes or calling names is nothing unusual, say teachers. Sharing of messages and name-calling can't be traced during online zoom classes leaving no other option but to continue with classes.

in online learning, communication, which is that the lifeline of teaching often gets disrupted thanks to multiple reasons including internet connectivity, inattentive and disengaged students, intrusion from parents or rowdy student behaviour towards teachers or one another . Students often excuse themselves from classes by blaming poor internet connectivity and miss classes. harder is that the situation of Primary teachers who need to also affect the youngsters deed and playing or getting easily distracted during online classes.

The quantity of distance learning and online degrees in most disciplines is large and increasing rapidly. Schools and institutions that provide online learning also are increasing in number. Students pursuing degrees via the web approach must be selective to make sure that their coursework is completed through a respected and credentialed institution.

ONLINE EDUCATION::

Online education may be a flexible instructional delivery system that encompasses any quite learning that takes place via the web . Online learning gives educators a chance to succeed in students who might not be ready to enroll during a traditional classroom course and supports students who got to work on their own schedule and at their own pace.

RATIONALE FOR CONSIDERING ONLINE EDUCATION

Online education has become a viable and exciting method for instructional delivery within the global business society that runs on a 24/7 schedule (24 hours a day/7 days a week) because it provides students with great flexibility.

With the increased availability of the web and technology , students are ready to access information anytime and anyplace that might normally be available only through a standard classroom. Studies have shown that students learn even as effectively in a web classroom as they are doing within the traditional classroom.

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF LEARNING ONLINE

  • Online education offers many positive benefits since students:
  • have flexibility in taking classes and dealing at their own pace and time.
  • find the submission of assignments easy and convenient
  • are more apt to voice their own opinions and share and debate issues with other students, also as learn from other students during the group discussions
  • Possible negative effects of learning online are that some students:
  • may miss the face-to-face interaction with the trainer and among students
  • may like better to attend traditional classes with a teacher who teaches and guides them through the course
  • If this seems to be true, the countries will offer marquee investment opportunities during a deeply troubled world. But the question is—in which sectors?

This essay shall argue that online education in India, which was already seeing a boom before the Coronavirus crisis, is about soar within the post-Covid-19 world.

But, in India this has special resonance. Even before the Covid-19 crisis, notes a KPMG and Google study, the web education market in India was set to grow to $1.96 billion, with 9.6 million users, by 2021, up from $247 million and 1.6 million users in 2016. In January, Indian edtech company Byju’s hit unicorn status with a valuation of $6 billion with support from financiers Tiger Global.

They are not the sole one. A clutch of startups, often powered by AI , are grabbing market share and money within the country—from Simplilearn to Vedantu—fuelled by a seemingly insatiable demand from a young, ambitious population. India’s education market is about to hit around $180 billion this year, doubling from 2016 levels.

The nature of education, then, is ripe for change in India, because it is elsewhere. Only India has millions more customers ready at hand reception than at other countries. As more people seek learning at their convenience, and within the comfort of their homes, at a reasonable cost, the demand for online education will leapfrog. The market will get differentiated and opportunities would be unlocked at every level.

The Coronavirus crisis, coming because it did at a critical time within the educational calendar, has triggered a conversation about the longer term of education in India. Such questions are fuel for the web education industry which has both the power and therefore the technical knowhow to proportion rapidly.

COVID-19 and therefore the ensuing lockdown caught most of the tutorial institutions off-guard and unprepared to tackle the pandemic-led disruption. most (90%) respondents have agreed to disruption in their present examination schedules. Despite the disruption, 85% of respondents said they might plow ahead with their exams. Nearly half the participants (48.81%) have already incorporated online solutions at their institutes and over two-thirds (67%) are seeking online solutions for the timely conduct of exams.

"The report further consolidates the trends we've been observing within the Indian education landscape lately thanks to the coronavirus-induced restrictions. The concerns about student's safety in large gatherings also as securing their future are fast-forwarding the shift to online exams. It's surely getting to define the education paradigm as we've never known before," said Siddhartha Gupta, CEO, Mercer | Mettl on the launch of the report.

There are various challenges though that the tutorial institutions want to unravel before they shift to online exams. These concerns are associated with avoiding technical glitches, seamless user experience for all stakeholders involved, and allowing an outsized number of scholars to seem for exams at an equivalent time from different locations. Their biggest concern remains to take care of the sanctity of high-stakes exams in online mode in nearly as good a fashion as centre-based exams, if not better, with 70% participants saying cheating prevention is that the most pressing concern for them.

The report further sheds light on the features educational institutions consider most crucial when selecting online examination technology providers. These 3 core features in varying degrees of priorities for semester and entrance exams are- robust anti-cheating technology, the power to handle an outsized number of scholars appearing for an exam simultaneously and accessibility and connectivity for all stakeholders regardless of location and internet bandwidth.

Educational institutions acknowledge that while the education sector was a late adopter of online education technology, the present disruption goes to accelerate the shift to online exams. Almost 6 out of 10 (58%) participants feel the COVID-19 impact will expedite the shift to online exams that's likely to sustain, the report said.

Students will likely experience new test formats and subsequent challenges within the coming weeks and possibly months as colleges adapt to administering online exams.

Colleges are navigating problems with academic integrity, managing students in multiple time zones, providing adequate resources for those with disabilities and ensuring students have the technology to require exams online. As schools and individual professors decide the way to proctor online exams, students can expect to encounter possible technical issues during this unprecedented time.

More accurately, i'm seeing the training experience of the subset of more privileged students. the school kids living under my roof enjoy fast internet, modern laptops, and a full fridge. Their only jobs are to end out the semester. And despite their many privileges, I still see these remote learning college students struggle sometimes .

Across higher ed, we've patted ourselves on our collective backs for creating the rapid transition from residential-to-remote learning. I'm not immune from a touch of self-congratulation. But the important folks that we should always be giving props to is our students. they're those who have had to simultaneously move both house (for residential students) and learning mode.

IMPORTANT LINK::

Among the most important struggles that I'm witnessing with the remote learning college students at my house is in their timed online exams.

With COVID-19 causing widespread school closures, children across the country are being given alternate resources, some online, to review outside of the classroom. Temporary solutions being devised for remote education range from online classroom tools like Google Classroom, to Zoom and podcasts by teachers. While parents are adjusting to the present new scenario, during this point it’s also important to assist kids stay focused on learning and avoid overuse of games, social media, and videos.

Consider limiting your children’s cell phones and tablets until their schoolwork is completed satisfactorily.

inorder that it can receive their undivided attention. Apps, games, and messaging features are fun, but they will also prove distracting. it's going to not be an option for everyone , but ideally, attempt to give your kids a fanatical device like a faculty laptop for max online learning.

2. MAKE SPACE FOR LEARNING

Your children will achieve their best add a quiet, comfortable, and dedicated space dedicated to learning. Ideally, this may be a special set-up than where they normally play games or watch television. confine mind that children are going to be during this space for several hours every day , and fogeys should be careful for any orthopedic issues which will arise associated with comfort and posture.

3. MONITOR THE (COMPUTER) MONITOR

In this new learning milieu, you'll help by monitoring your children’s levels of interest and engagement in adapting to their new schedule and at-home materials. the only thanks to do this? Observation. check out your child’s eyes to ascertain if they’re following along side the screen. Check if they’re taking notes or zoning out. Ask questions at the top of a lesson. While this might require taking an hour faraway from work or stepping out for an early lunch, it’s important to verify that your children are indeed learning. If you discover that your child isn't engaging with the teachings , don’t be afraid to contact the varsity district or teachers to raised explore the difficulty . Sometimes, easily remedied technical problems like bad audio, poor connection, or an unhelpful point of view can make all the difference.

4. DIGITAL RECESS

Set alarms almost like those they might encounter at college and encourage them to urge up, get some fresh air, choose a walk or bike ride, or have a snack in order that they're not sedentary for the whole day.

5. FACETIME

In-person interaction is right for teenagers , but until it’s safe for them to return to high school , encourage your children to video chat or text message instead of simply scrolling through social media. You don’t want your children to feel socially isolated, but at an equivalent time, you would like to guard them from becoming wholly reliant upon their devices. Sit your children down for face-to-face conversations about screen time. so as to offer them agency, discuss what proportion time they think is cheap to spend online and make a “contract,” committing to goals for on-screen vs. off-screen hours.

8. PLAN YOUR WORK AND WORK YOUR PLAN

Good planning can relieve stress for both children and fogeys . sign up together with your kids about their plans and help them develop a written schedule not just for the day, except for the week as an entire.

Help them prioritize and learn to make goals, tasks, and deadlines, a bit like adults do once they attend work. Tasks which will not are difficult for them while attending school face to face can become tougher when learning from home, so it’s important to strengthen boundaries and offer incentives for healthy behaviors. To avoid disruption, some after-school activities could also be offered via online video apps, Facetime, or Skype.

9. THIS AIN’T NO VACATION

Even though staying home from school might desire a vacation , remind your kids that they’re not on vacation. Assignments, grades, requirements, and tests like state exams, SATs, and ACTs aren’t departure simply because classes have moved online.

10. DON’T FORGET to possess FUN

Plan off-screen activities for the entire family. Between school and work obligations, it’s rare for folks and youngsters to possess this much time together, so turn it into a chance for bonding. Write predictions for a television program that the entire family watches. Organize a tournament, family card games, charades, or chess, or get outside for a hike or walk together after school. Follow your community’s guidelines about safe behavior and events, of course, but confirm you continue to find time for fun together with your kids.

Without a doubt, this is often a challenging time for folks , teachers, and youngsters alike. Studies show that screen time can have both positive and adverse impacts on kids, and therefore the shift to online education will only increase your child’s time with their devices.

October Unit Test paper solution std 7 maths

During an epidemic , among absolutely the top priorities of each college and university should be to avoid contributing to any unnecessary stress for our students. I'd argue that this is often true even in non-global pandemic times, but we save that debate for later.

Timed exams create stress. Not for each student and each exam. But enough students in enough exams.

Timed exams created stress, albeit everything else within the test-taking environment is normal and supportive. Nothing in our students'students' test-taking environment is normal and supportive nowadays.

A stressed-out brain doesn't learn. Even with all the evidence from learning science, we in higher ed haven't been ready to abandoning of the parable that a touch little bit of stress is sweet for learning. It is not.

Stress and anxiety can push up short-term performance (as measured in test scores) but is horrible for long-term retention.

How is your home bandwidth? With six laptops competing for bandwidth in my house, to not mention every neighbor also on the web all day, my bandwidth sometimes sucks. and that we the highest Comcast tier.

How are you surviving with remote work and schooling if you're on DSL, cellular, or satellite?

Combine iffy home bandwidth with the performance challenges that Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, and other learning management platforms are experiencing as a results of massively heightened usage. The LMS providers seem to be doing an honest job of scaling their services to satisfy demand, but reports of platform sluggishness are widespread.

With timed online exams, particularly exams that only show one question on a page, bandwidth and other performance issues are deadly for the test-taker. are you able to imagine your exam time ticking down as you await the inquiries to load?

Timed exams measure a student's ability to answer questions quickly. A timed exam is assessing speed, not understanding.

There is no correlation between recall speed and understanding. Students who can come up with answers quickly aren't smarter than those that got to think before answering.

The ability to end an exam quickly isn't a measure of preparation, diligence, or mastery.

Sometimes you hear that instructors assigned timed exams to protect against cheating. the thought is that students won't have time to travel and find the answers from other sources.

IMPORTANT LINK::

The idea that timed exams protect against cheating is another one among those myths that higher ed can't seem to abandoning . the truth is that if students want to cheat, then they're going to find how to try to to so.

In our current universal remote learning reality, I suppose that we could institute a web proctoring system involving webcams, keystroke logging, and perhaps drones. I'm dubious if this may work, and i am sure that the advantages wouldn't be well worth the effort.

October Unit Test std 9 to 12 time table and syllabus declared

 October Unit Test  std 9 to 12 time table and syllabus declared

Although parents tend to worry about giving too much screen time to their children, a survey conducted among low-income families by Central Square Foundation (CSF) revealed how — even in the pre-Covid days — children between the ages of 3 to 9, were spending an hour to 90 minutes each day on their parents’ phones each day. CSF is now advocating for this time to be spent on watching engaging and high-quality educational content to reduce the learning gap and achieve foundational literacy. With the governments pushing online education, there is also a gradual change in the perception of some parents that serious education cannot be done using the cell phone. CSF’s Gouri Gupta likened the Covid crisis as being a “Sputnik moment for EdTech (educational technology) in India” and that understanding what works and what does not will be very important in the post-Covid inclusive growth of EdTech in the country.

Learnings for creating a conducive policy framework

State governments such as Karnataka and Maharashtra have banned online classes for very young children, but Karnataka has allowed the use of recorded videos and has appointed a committee to suggest guidelines for revoking the ban. It would be good for such committees to keep some of the learnings outlined here in mind. The guidelines that MHRD is contemplating i.e., restricting the length of class time to up to two hours on weekdays, getting parents and volunteers to help teachers, and requiring schools to offer content in multiple mediums to cater to students with varying degrees of technology access or even no access, and providing for the physical and mental health of students, are all very good steps in the right direction.
