6 minor changes from today: Commercial cylinders cheaper, buying cars expensive; You will get more interest in Sukanya Yojana

Here we are telling you about the changes that have happened from today.

1. Reduction in the price of commercial gas cylinders

There has been a slight decline in the prices of commercial gas cylinders on the first day of the year. The price of gas cylinder in Delhi has fallen by Rs 1.5 to Rs 1755.50. Whereas in Kolkata, the price of gas cylinder has increased by 50 paise and its price has become Rs 1869. In Mumbai it has become cheaper by Rs 1.50 and the price has come down to Rs 1708.50. In Chennai, the price has decreased the most by Rs 4.5 and the price of the cylinder has become Rs 1924.50.

However, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder. Currently it is available for Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 908 in Bhopal and Rs 906 in Jaipur.

2. You will get more interest on Sukanya Yojana

The government has increased the interest rate on Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana by 0.20% for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24 from January 1. On investment in this scheme, now 8.20% interest will be given annually instead of 8%.

Through this scheme you can easily prepare a fund worth lakhs of rupees for your daughter. Apart from this, the 3 year time deposit rate has been increased by 0.10%. Now 7.10% interest will be given annually.

3. Maruti, Audi, Honda, MG and Tata cars will become expensive

Most of the car companies announce increase in the prices of their vehicles from the new year. Luxurious car manufacturing company Audi India has increased the prices of its vehicles by 2%.

Apart from this, Maruti, Honda, MG and Tata have also increased the prices of vehicles. However, the companies have not yet updated the new prices on their sites. Tata Motors has increased the prices of all its commercial vehicles by 3%.

4. Now SIM will be available only through digital KYC

Now while purchasing a new SIM card, customers will have to do only e-KYC. That means paper based KYC has been completely banned. The new rule of SIM card has been implemented from January 1, 2024. Now telecom companies will do only digital KYC.

5. UPI account will be closed

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) had asked payment apps like Google Pay, Paytm and PhonePe and banks to deactivate such UPI IDs which have not been active for more than a year. The last date for this was kept as 31st December 2023. In such a situation, those whose UPI ID has not been active for more than one year will be deactivated.

6. UPI for secondary market will be launched today

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will launch UPI for the secondary market on January 1, 2024. After this investors will be able to buy shares by paying through UPI. Initially this service will be available only for a few users.

Currently investors can make payment through UPI in IPO bidding. When investors apply for an IPO, the money is blocked in their bank account and when shares are issued, the amount is debited from the account.

Similarly, after the launch of this service in the secondary market, the amount of the purchased stock will be blocked in your account. After this, when the settlement takes place on the same day, the money will be debited from the investors' account.

No change in petrol price

There is no change in the prices of petrol and diesel today. Currently in Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 96.72 per liter while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 per liter. Whereas in Mumbai petrol is available at the price of Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per liter. There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the last one and a half years.

A heart touching story of an auto driver has come to light in Mumbai. It is also going very viral on social media. The death of two sons in two years on auto driver Desraj brought down a mountain of grief, but they did not give up.

Due to financial constraints, the 74-year-old Deshraj also sold his house to educate his granddaughter. Elderly Desraj ji Tantod is working hard to take care of his children and wife after the death of his son. Humans of Bombay shared this heartbreaking story on its social media page and appealed to the people for help. The target was to raise Rs 20 lakh through this initiative, but this amount has been exceeded. Rs 24 lakh has now been collected through this initiative and the check has been handed over to the auto driver.

"My eldest son went missing from home 6 years ago," Humans of Bombay wrote, sharing the story of auto rickshaw driver Desraj. He left home for work and never returned. His son's body was found a week later. Desraj's 40-year-old son, who was driving near Khar in Mumbai, died, but his elderly father did not have time to mourn him and the next day he started driving on the road.

Two years later, another tragedy unfolded, and they lost another daughter. While driving the auto, a call came that your son's body was found on the platform, he has committed suicide. The corpses of two sons have been cremated, what greater grief could there be for a father.

The average monthly balance has now been raised to Rs 3,000 for metros and urban cities and Rs 1,000 for rural areas. At the same time, the charge for not maintaining the minimum balance has been reduced.

About 45 crore customers will be relieved by SBI’s new rule. Generally speaking, a charge of Rs 5-15 and GST have been levied to maintain the minimum balance. SBI’s minimum average balance charge was introduced in April 2017.

In the case of metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, a reduction of 50 per cent in the minimum balance carries a fine of Rs 10 plus GST. The decision to open Std 10 and 12 schools from January 11 was taken at a cabinet meeting, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama announced today. The state government has started preparations to start schools as per the central government’s Corona guideline. It has been decided to start classes from January 10 and 12, PG and last year's college.

All Gujarat boards, government, secondary schools will be started, only Std. 10 and 12 classes will be started, besides final year classes of the college will be started. Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said during a press conference that the attendance of students is not mandatory after the commencement of schools. As well as the consent of the parents is not required. He said that at present no decision has been taken to give mass promotion in standard 1 to 8. In addition, the schedule of the examination will be announced later. The number of courses taught will be the same as the number of courses taught. Online education will continue in schools. In addition, as per the SOP of the Central Government, social distance has to be observed, schools have to arrange thermal guns and soap. Chudasama said other standards would also be considered in the near future.

The validity of documents including RC book and driving license has been extended till March 31 due to Corona virus infection. Earlier the time limit for raw licenses was extended. The state transport commissioner's office has issued a new order. Following Corona, it has been decided to extend the validity of documents including driving license, RC book, fitness certificate and permit till March 31, 2021.

The deadline for all these documents was extended till September 30 last year by the Department of Vehicle Transactions. A further three months were added. The deadline for all documents with the new year was 31st December 2020, but according to the new order of the government, even if the deadline has expired, its validity will be valid till March 31, 2021.
