Following RBI guidelines on check clearance, Bank of Baroda has made some changes in its check payment rules. The bank has told its customers that the positive pay system will become mandatory for check payments of Rs 5 lakh or more from August 1. Apart from that check payment cannot be made.

What is Positive Pay System?

The Reserve Bank of India, the country's central bank, has decided to introduce a 'positive pay system' for checks in the year 2020 to prevent banking fraud. Under this system, payment of more than Rs 50,000 by check may require some key information. Through this system check information can be given through message, mobile app, internet banking or ATM. These details are checked before payment of the cheque.

Scientists  declare their new study A new way to purify salt water faster and more  successfully . They successfully separated salt from water using a fluorine-based nano-structure.

Associate Professor Mitsubishi Ito of the University of Tokyo’s Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology and colleagues began their study by exploring the  unpolluted of fluorine pipelines at the nano scale. Ito said that we were curious to see how effective the fluoresce in nano channel could be at selectively filtering various compounds, particularly water and salt. After running some  compound computer simulations we decided it was worth it to build a working sample.

The team of scientists developed several test samples with nano rings ranging in size from 1 to 2 nanometers. According to Ito, they found that a test sample was working, as it successfully removed the salt molecules from the water. According to Ito, fluorine-based filters not only purify water, but also work several thousand times faster than industrial devices. He said that the carbon nano-tube based devices were also 2,400 times slower than the  halon devices. Scientists say that the new technology  need less energy to  work and is also easier to use.
